36 Years

Making brides feel confident and radiant on their special day.

I’ve always worked in the garment industry and sewn from an early age but for the past 18 years I have concentrated on the bridal industry. Owning the successful PuureBride bridal shop was a passion but in order to get the home / work life balance I have now decided to concentrate only on bridal alterations. So if you need alterations to your wedding gown, bridesmaid dress or mother of the bride outfit get in contact.

I only work by appointment, initial appointments normally last 45 minutes.

Email to discuss your requirements.

Altering Necklines

The depth of the neckline on wedding dresses is a matter of personal preference. Some prefer a daring plunge, while others opt for a more modest height. Incorporating a soft mesh into the neckline or backline can offer both a seductive appearance and adequate bust support.

Perfecting the Train Length

When contemplating alterations to the train length, various factors such as body type, venue, and personal taste should be taken into consideration. A longer train can create a striking, sophisticated look, adding glamour as it sweeps gracefully behind you. Conversely, a shorter train offers greater freedom of movement and convenience. Tailoring the train length involves adjusting the fabric's hem while preserving its inherent beauty.

Adding Lace Sleeves

We can provide various options for adding lace sleeves to your chosen dress. We offer detachable sleeves that can be pinned onto any gown. During the alteration process, we will first adjust the bodice to ensure a perfect fit. Subsequently, we will meticulously attach the lace or beaded appliqué to the sleeves, seamlessly integrating them with the dress.

how much are alterations?

The cost of alterations depends on the specific requirements, with a quotation provided at the first fitting. Typically, most brides will need at least three appointments. For instance, hem alterations start from £100, and bodice alterations start from £65. Factors such as fabric, dress style, and detailing can influence the overall cost of alterations.

How long do alterations take?

From the 1st fit to the wedding is normally a 8 week period with your final appointment being around 10 days before the wedding but this is flexible and depends on the client.

Do you make bespoke dresses?

No, I do not make bespoke dresses but I can make style changes, adding straps, sleeves etc depending on the limitations of the dress style. This can be discussed in your 1st fit.

Can I bring people with me to the fitting?

Yes you can but we do ask you to limit it to two people.

Can I add lace/ beading to my dress?

Yes this can be discussed at your 1st fit.

When do I have to pay for alterations?

A deposit of £50 is taken at the 1st fit and remaining amount is paid at the point of all alterations being completed on your final fit. You will receive an invoice that is clearly itemised.

Do you do weekend appointments?

Yes, fittings are on Thursdays and Saturdays. We will always try and accommodate appointments that work around your work schedule wherever possible.
